It is up to 2.7 meters tall. That’s much taller than a human. 鴕鳥是最高的鳥類——有2.7米高！（比人可高多了！） Long legs 大長腿 Long legs give the ostrich a big stride (步伐). The bird can cover 5 meters in just one stride. That is as long as a car! 因?yàn)橐浑p大長腿，鴕鳥的步伐很大——一步可以邁出5米！和一輛汽車差不多長！ Short wings 短小的翅膀 They help the ostrich keep its balance (平衡) and turn. 短小的翅膀可以幫鴕鳥在“狂奔”時(shí)順利轉(zhuǎn)彎和保持平衡。 Special feet 特殊的腳 The ostrich has only two toes on each foot. The ostrich can run fast and far. It can keep a speed of more than 48 km per hour for about 5 minutes. 鴕鳥可以和汽車跑的差不多快。時(shí)速48千米/小時(shí)連續(xù)跑五分鐘，不成問題！ Who is the winner? 比比看？ The ostrich can finish a 42-km marathon (馬拉松) in about 40 minutes. This would take the best human runners two hours. 鴕鳥可以以40分鐘的優(yōu)異成績完成42千米的馬拉松——但人類（即使是最好的運(yùn)動(dòng)員）也需要花兩個(gè)小時(shí)左右才能完賽！
